METI Delegation Visits the School of Political Science and Economics

A delegation from the Industry-University Collaboration Office, Innovation and Environment Policy Bureau of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) visited the School of Political Science and Economics (SPE) on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The delegation, led by Director Satoshi Kawakami, was received by Dean Spyros Maniatis, Associate Dean I-Hsuan Hong and Program Directors, Professor Bennett Fu and Professor Hsin-Chun Wang. The meeting began with an overview of the School’s establishment, development, and ongoing collaborations with industry partners. Both sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on the Innovation Act for Industry-Academia Collaboration and Talent Cultivation in National Key Fields, sharing insights on institutional challenges, financial models, and future directions. The exchange fostered mutual understanding and opened possibilities for future cooperation between Japan and Taiwan in advancing university-industry partnerships and innovation-driven education.
