Professor Stephen G. Brooks is Professor of Government at Dartmouth College and a senior fellow at the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. He is a prominent scholar in international relations, with research focusing on the intersection of economics and security, U.S. grand strategy, international relations theory, and international security. His work has been widely published in top-tier academic journals, and he is the author and co-author of several influential books in the field. His latest book, The Political Economy of Security (Princeton University Press, 2026), provides a comprehensive analysis of how economic forces shape national security strategies and the international order.
