Nobel Laureate Professor Myron Scholes Delivered a Lecture “Uncertainty, Artificial Intelligence, and Financial Economics”

The 1997 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, Professor Myron Scholes, delivered a lecture at SPE on Friday, March 14, 2025, titled “Uncertainty, Artificial Intelligence, and Financial Economics.” The event was hosted by SPE in collaboration with National Taiwan Normal University, the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, and the Taiwan Science and Technology Hub@Stanford, and attracted more than 500 participants, including NTU students, faculty, and industry partners. Professor Scholes, also the Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance, Emeritus, at Stanford University, discussed how artificial intelligence technologies could address uncertainties in financial markets. He also engaged in conversations with NTU President Wen-Chang Chen and SPE faculty leaders. Professor Scholes remarked after his lecture that the questions from NTU students were good and he enjoyed the event and his visit to the beautiful NTU campus with blooming azaleas.
